7 Reasons Why You Should Listen Audiobooks

I recently discovered audio books and just couldn’t help but notice many advantages of using them. Now mind you, I love a physical book as much as any bookworm but after getting an eye infection I had to find an alternative. I have noticed that many people don’t even consider listening to them and as much as I’m regretting not using that kind of format earlier I would love to enlighten my fellow reader benefits of using audiobooks and how much you guys are missing out! So, without further ado let me tell you why audiobooks rock.

why to use audiobooks

Stephen King

They are portable like regular books but with more advantages, So you can get through more books like you can use them while you are driving, walking, running, brushing your teeth, getting ready or even during a workout session. I usually listen to them while doing chores, cleaning my closet etc.

Being a student myself, I know how to feel completing hundred of tasks at hand before the deadline, Things can get pretty heavy and it’s next to impossible to find any motivation to read but luckily many audio books like The Power of Meaning by Emily Esfahani Smith and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey can provide a great source of inspiration for future perspective.

It’s going to save you from the embarrassment of pronouncing a word (or God forbid a character’s name) incorrectly and enhance your listening skills and vocabulary simultaneously. e.g Isla “EYE-lah” and Les Miserables as “ley-mee-zey-ra-bluh”, Bet you didn’t know that either.

After a long day of looking at your smartphone, You can rest your eyes and let your imagination go wild by listening to a new fantasy series (I prefer Harry Potter and Percy Jackson and the Olympians series or any funny lighthearted book that I want to reread.) and its also great for those with poor eyesight. The human voice can be soothing and it sometimes quiets our racing thoughts.

It helps you save time when you are too busy in your life that you can’t even find the time to sit down and read anything, I’ve discovered that it really helps to save you alot of time if you are doing something that doesn’t require your undivided attention like cleaning your closet or during your commute time. Read the whole book without you having to set up a specific time for reading.

In the end, I believe that it is all about personal preference. Some people are good at consuming knowledge via visual media, while others do so either by reading or listening to audiobooks and podcasts. There is not one perfect answer to what medium you should be using or which one is superior seeing the alternatives as something not even worth considering.

It all should refer back to which is the easier option for you at that time, consuming knowledge as best as you can with the mediums yuo have in your arsenal is all that should matter to you in the end.

Happy Reading/Listening/Watching!

Audiobooks are great but the feeling you get from reading the book physically is just unique. Also, I have found I remember stuff easily from the book when I see and read them. Maybe that’s just
